Female Empowerment and Social Transformation in Mozambique with Dorcas de Fé – Costurando Milagres

The Civil Diplomat and Jethro’s Expansion Director Eliana Santos presents Dorcas de Fé & Fio a humanitarian project for woman in Maputo – Mozambique.

Transforming Destinies with Threads of Hope

In Mozambique, under Eliana’s coordination, the project offers a cutting and sewing course to vulnerable women.

This is a partnership with ICEMI – Missionary Evangelization Center, led by fellow Jethro Humanitarian Diplomat, Apostle Daniel Barwani.

Participants learn creative sewing using traditional capulana fabrics, which carry the identity, colors, and history of Mozambique.

The project is not limited to technique: it aims for economic self-sufficiency, empowerment, and family support, in addition to promoting community bonds, emotional support, and therapeutic care.

We would like to highlight the important contribution of two sewing machines by the Humanitarian Civil Diplomat and Pastor Mrs. Zélia Lodgero with members of the Missão Resposta Church.

The Civil Diplomats Paulina Simeão and Juscelina Libombo accompany and guide the group during and after Eliana’s stay, ensuring the work’s continuity.

The talented Mozambican tailor, Mr. Malilo, offers his technical knowledge to the participants.

Who is Eliana Santos

Eliana Santos, Civil Diplomat and Jethro International’s Director of Expansion, overcame numerous challenges to become a cross-cultural missionary and a nurse specializing in mental health.

She specialized in mental health, chemical dependency, urgency and emergency, grief, disasters, Christian psychotherapy, and sexology.

She is also a mentor ambassador for Interweave Solutions, teaching self-sufficiency courses to women in poverty, in addition to being a master’s student at USP and a national and international speaker.

Since 2020, she has been carrying out social actions in the African country: caring for mothers of children with cerebral palsy, supporting the “mamas” who recycle waste at the Hulene B landfill.

Eliana emphasizes her gratitude to ICEMI for their continuous support

However, the project seeks supporters and sponsors to expand its reach and transform even more lives.

This is an invitation to participate in this great “sewing of miracles” in Mozambique—a country with challenges, but also immense potential and hope.

“I know what I do is just a drop in the ocean, but I firmly believe that if I don’t do it, it will be one less drop in the ocean.” says Eliana, she intends to live permanently in Mozambique
