Humanitarian Civil Diplomat Edson Sousa deliver essential aid to families affected by flooding in Benguela, Angola.

Edson Sousa:  Solidarity Reaches Families Affected by Floods

In Benguela, Angola, several families faced an emergency after the Cavaco River overflowed. The situation worsened after a dyke ruptured in Bairro das Bimbas.

As a result, water spread rapidly and caused serious flooding in Calomanga. Many residents lost essential belongings, including phones, sofas, beds, food, homes, and family memories.

In response, Humanitarian Civil Diplomat Edson dos Santos Sousa took action with compassion and urgency. In collaboration with Marsanto LTDA, he delivered essential goods to affected residents.

The donation included mattresses, drinking water, basic hygiene kits, and food. Therefore, the initiative helped families facing immediate hardship after the floods.

Moreover, the action showed the practical role of Civil Humanitarian Diplomacy in moments of crisis. It also highlighted the importance of local leadership, fast mobilization, and community care.

For Jethro International, humanitarian action starts when trained citizens transform responsibility into service. In this way, Civil Humanitarian Diplomats can connect needs, partners, and concrete solutions.

Edson Sousa’s work in Benguela represents this mission with clarity. He acted close to the people, identified urgent needs, and helped bring relief to families in distress.

Through solidarity, cooperation, and practical action, Benguela received more than supplies. It received care, presence, and a reminder that humanity can rise even after the waters fall.
